Humorous Speaker, Importance Of Humor

Some keynote speaker says that they do not take wit in their address because it does not get with their solace. In fact any system can take wit and it is a really invaluable instrument in speaking. Apt funny address relaxes your audience and creates more comfy feeling with you as a funny speaker. Humor could too take care to the level you are making; and it as easily assist the audience best recall your level. It really breaks downward barriers then that the audience is more available to your tips and ideas.

The better and almost comfy spot to discover wit is simply away your own private experience. Just believe backwards on any awkward time that you may get thought not amusing at that moment. Now that you are sharing the experience, you realize how amusing it is. There is an older saying “Humor is simply disaster separated by moment and place. ” Or just believe of any incident that was amusing to be shared. Here, you are not trying to be comic just seek to have it simple for folk to repay care

Here are some ideas on using wit to have your next address have much influence.

Verify that the humor is funny.

If you wear't usually laughter or grin at the sketch, amusing tale, wordplay, gag, tale, or new forms of wit, so you certainly cannot require an audience to make then. A key to using wit is simply using wit, which makes you laughter or grin.

Use related Humor.

Do not take wit that is simply there to have the viewers laughter. The wit needs to draw in with some aspect of your address. For instance, I say about my experience of getting brace at age 50 and how difficult it was for me to have used to the wires and rubber bands in my lip. After I say the tale I take the level that you might get not had the brace trouble I had, but we all have facing in speaking easily, and what we wish to seem at today are ways of making it easy for us to be more effectual in speaking. This would in move take no sense, then be inclined and take related wit to your subject.

Start with impressive short.

A starting level may be to abbreviate a sketch and offer the championship as your wit. A stimulating still smart cable about a level you are making is one much manner of getting started. For instance, when I speak about inspiration and getting out of your simplicity zone, a cable I establish that worked easily was, "Orville Wright did not get a pilot's certify. " In your interpretation, feel for lines, which take you smile; believe how they may be used in your next coming address. Be cautious about introduction into a lengthy funny story--audiences are tight to forgive an unmarried cable, which might not be amusing, but they do not get more patience with a big tale that isn't worth the moment. So you need to begin away with intelligent and inspiring bits of humor.

Humor Sells: Motivating With Laughter

What do you do when you're making a presentation or just having a discussion and everything goes wrong, when you fumble or stumble, when you can't find the numbers you need to refer to, when the numbers you do find are wrong?

Try laughter. Try making a joke out of it, using self-deprecating humor. It shows confidence. It shows that you're amazed things went wrong. It makes what could be a problem fun for the people you're dealing with.

Humor sells. In one study of humor in negotiation, "buyers" who made their final offer with a smile and a quip,
"Well, my final offer is x dollars and I'll throw in my pet frog," were able to make the buy at a lower price. Sellers who laughed out loud were even more likely to grant concessions than those who didn't. Imagine if the joke had actually been funny.

You can use humor to get attention, to build rapport, to break down resistance, to make a point more memorable: to get people to listen and to enjoy listening. The old dictum is true: when you're funny you don't have to yell. Always makes sure the humor is appropriate, of course; and always use it with care. Some people will throw up barriers if you get appear to be getting overly friendly too fast.

"If you would rule the world quietly," Emerson said, "you must keep it amused." You can rule the office the same way

In "The Light Touch," humor expert, Malcolm Kushner tells a story of Adelle Roberts, a police officer called to the scene of a domestic disturbance. As she approached the house, a TV came flying out a window. She knocked loudly to be heard over the yelling.

"Who is it?" an angry male voice snarled.

"TV repairman," Roberts replied.

The man burst into laughter, and opened the door. She probably wouldn't have gotten quite that response if she'd said, "Police."

Humor's effectiveness in diffusing anger and breaking down resistance can be particularly important in today's work environment. In one study, 49 percent of the respondents said they're usually at least a little angry on the job. Forty-nine percent say they are USUALLY angry.

I've known premise salespeople who have been threatened with guns. Some of them deserved it. Though that's carrying sales resistance to an extreme.

Tip: Nobody is going to shoot you while they're laughing.

Tip: Long after people have forgotten what was said, they'll remember how they felt about the person who said it.

Self-deprecating humor is also a great way for executives and managers to put themselves on the same level as their subordinates. It shows they can take a joke, that they too put their pants or their pantyhose on one leg at a time.

When Jack Kennedy wanted to defuse the issue of his family's wealth, he told everyone he'd just gotten a telegram from his father. "Dear Jack," he read, "Don't buy one more vote than necessary. I'll be damned if I'll pay for a landslide."

A new manager was obligated to post a lengthy list of rules right after being promoted to the position: hardly the best rapport builder. He posted the list all right, but he signed it at the bottom, "A. Hitler, Gruppenfuehrer." His superior snatched it off the wall as, "inappropriate." Perhaps. But by then everyone had already seen it.

"We'd read the rules," one worker reports. "We figured the 'Gruppenfuehrer' was going to enforce them. We knew the iron fist was there, and we appreciated that he'd stuck it in a velvet glove and used it to poke a little fun at himself. Otherwise we'd have seen it as a new guy coming in and throwing his weight around."

Another mid-level manager had a grumpy looking doll with a tape recorder inside that he'd programmed to say, "Get your mangy butts back on the job and stop wasting the company's time." The doll would deliver the message whenever the manager decided it was needed. People took the hint, and nobody was offended.

As humor expert Kushner says, "Learn to take your work seriously without taking yourself so seriously. No matter how serious your work or topic, it's always safe to poke fun at yourself."

Show Off A Killer Sense Of Humor

The best leaders keep the world in perspective. They see the bright side of things. They can find humor in most circumstances. They can laugh at the absurdity life often offers. Humor eases tension and takes the bite out of tough situations.

A sense of humor draws followers to the leader. It helps followers feel safe and energizes and activates their minds. Humor also plays a larger role as an essential element of effective living. Health professionals agree that those with a sense of humor have a greater sense of being and belonging. That feeling gets communicated and creates the rapport that attracts others to the leader. Some people say that humor must be limited within the serious business of work. Yet people laugh most often about the things that are most serious to them. Think of all the jokes you have heard about money, taxes, and even death.

Stay within your style and focus on topics that delight you. This means overcoming the limiting belief that “I’m not funny.” Everyone gets a tickle out of something. For example, bring to mind the somber image of Alan Greenspan. Imagine him saying, “Inflation is what lets you live in a more expensive neighborhood without having to move.” Share what tickles you and let people see your sense of humor. Don’t worry about never getting jokes, not remembering funny stories, or not spinning a good yarn.

You don’t have to tell jokes to demonstrate your sense of humor. You do not have to try to be funny. You do not have to be a great raconteur. Just talk about topics that interest you and reveal your sense of playfulness. I knew a corporate attorney who everyone thought had absolutely no sense of humor. I found out the attorney was an avid Red Sox baseball fan. Since I enjoy baseball too, I asked him about the Red Sox once. He went on for twenty minutes about his love for the team. Several of his comments were about humorous incidents at Red Sox games. I laughed loud and hard at some of his comments.

Respond to others’ quips and cleverness. Your sense of humor is conveyed when you engage other people and react to them. Simply restating what someone else said, with a different tone or with a link to another idea, can cause a chuckle or create a second round of humor. What if your attempt at humor bombs? Acknowledge the bomb. Have at hand a few ready-made recovery lines to stop the flop. George H. Bush certainly never created the impression that he was one of American polities’ stand-up funny-men. Yet he demonstrated a good sense of humor when he flubbed a line during his 1988 presidential campaign. Bush said, “We’ve had triumphs. We’ve made mistakes. We’ve had sex.” “Sex” was the tongue-tied replacement for “setbacks.” Bush recovered easily from his flub by saying, “I feel like the javelin thrower who won the toss and elected to receive.” When you do bomb, and everyone does, say or do something rather than try to ignore the bomb.

Using Priceless Humor To Win Love

Do you believe in love at first sight?

In a highly competitive and result oriented 21st century’s society, what happen when you meet your dream ones, apart from struggling to pursue her (him), do you have other options to choose? Love is hard to demand for but it may hit you unexpectedly. You may not have enough time to get prepared with nice & charming reactions but you would definitely not want to miss the great opportunity. You meet him (or her) somewhere in that unique moment and with such coincidence and that may be your only chance in life.

In the circumstances of love at first sight, if you wish to have your courtship turn out successful, then you should seriously review your courtship process, whether you have included the important element of being humorous.

In reality, there are many men whom dare not try courtship as they are worried about rejection by the girls. However, almost all ladies will feel proud when they are being pursuit by men. Therefore, calm yourself down and walk slowly to the girl you like and talk to her bravely. Cherish every love opportunity you have.

Then, how pricessless humor be specifically applied? First of all, you must have the courage. You cannot be threatened by the arrogance of beautiful girls. As far as possible, calm yourself down. Treat her as an easy going person, then approach and talk to her nicely. After that, with the help of all foreseeable scenarios and captured clues, put in good humor and jokes to win her smile. As the saying goes: “Things are easier to do after laughing” If she was willing to smile, it will be easy for the next step.

A man fell in love with a pretty girl in his campus, but he did not know her name and was upset because he did not has a chance to talk to her.

On one occasion, the opportunity finally arrived. He saw the girl walking alone into a beef noodle restaurant. He did not hesitate and followed her immediately.

He tensed up and summoned all his courage to talk to the girl: “Excuse me, I have seen you in the campus on a few occasions. By the way, what is your name?”

The girl looked at him and answered unwilling: “I am macaroni!”

She obviously did not want to tell her name. But the boy did not get angry, he blushed: “Oh! Well, I had better to change my name too, to a noodle term, I am called California beef noodle!”

The girl immediately lit her brilliant smile on her face…

When approaching girls for the first time, the most common approach for men is to read out the pre-designed script by heart. Some even prepared the note in advance and pass it to the girl when both meet. This method is not ideal in most circumstances, because you are not able to know in advance the actual situation, who will be there, the attitude of the girl and what are the suitable things to say, and so on. The use of priceless humor needs not to be pre-designed. It is always able to capture information at the scene, on the spot and uses it to make the girl laugh.

Many girls also wish to know who are the outstanding men around, but many are unable to make it through the first stage. Many girls feel that, in the first sentence spoken to a man, the greatest difficulty is language. Therefore, how should the girls be using good humor to talk to men they admired?

Jean is a simple and warm woman. She realized she fell in love with Martin when she first saw him. She summoned all her courage and talked to him humorously, confessing to him:

You appeared in my dream,
I know, you were sent by God to me.
Although this appear to be unbelievable, but I am very cordial…
Will you become my lifelong protector?

It is hard to demand for a love. We have to learn how to be FUNNY to grasp the every opportunity around us. When it is a case of love at first sight, use humorous language to express the deep love from our hearts.

The Serious Art Of Writing Humor

It has often been said that everyone likes humor and laughter on our planet. Well maybe not everyone, but almost every person who is normal will like humor provided someone else makes them laugh. And you can always enjoy reading a funny article or book written by somebody. But have you ever considered writing a funny article yourself, or maybe even write a funny book sometime? Even if you know how to write regular articles and books the very thought of writing something funny and showing it to others can turn your blood cold or make your hair stand straight. There are plenty of writers on our planet who can write countless topics in a serious, straightforward manner. But very few know how to add one magical component into their writing to make it more palatable and enjoyable. And that magical component is humor. If you want your writing to be enjoyed by your intended audience then you must add an acceptable dose of clean humor into it. It is the lack of humor that makes most articles and books tasteless even if it contains useful stuff. Writing about any serious topic you are familiar with is perhaps easy, but adding humor to it is very difficult and sometimes even dangerous if you take too many liberties. Hence you must learn some basic rules if you want to write humor and make your stuff enjoyable. And those top secret tips are outlined below.

1. The first rule for anyone who want to write humor is to become bold. Contrary to what most people think humor writers are actually very brave people. You need to develop a thick skin, nerves of steel and become brave slowly day by day. You cannot be funny if you are scared to poke fun at things, issues, people, etc. And you can't be funny if you're afraid of embarrassing yourself or lampooning a famous personality. Verbally anyone can be funny, but it takes guts to put the same in writing and let the public read, and maybe the entire world see it. So humorists need a lot of courage to write and publish something funny about an issue, person or a concept.

2. A humorous person has no limit on what he or she can think or write about. You must be able to think in atrocious, ridiculous, crazy, illogical and nonsense terms. Modern management consultants call this thinking out of the box, but I call it old fashioned creativity and humor that has existed from centuries.

3. What is important is that you should make your readers think what you have written is funny. But a person who writes humor you need not look funny, act funny or make goofy antics. You should become a person that nobody would suspect of writing funny and witty stuff. You can be a serious type of person and yet have the ability to write fantastic humor. This adds more spice and an aura of mystery to your personality.

4. Most people think writing humor is simply about saying and writing jokes about other people. But this is only partially true. Top humorists mainly make fun of themselves and not about someone. The best humor is always self directed. Direct the humor towards yourself that way you will not annoy anyone. People will laugh if you make fun of yourself, but they may be outraged if you make fun of them. The most important thing about writing humor is to allow your readers to laugh at you and with you, and then optionally at themselves.

5. Unless your article is for MAD magazine or a pure humor or satire piece with no restrictions, there are various do's and don'ts that one should follow when writing humor. Don’t use bad language. Don't make fun of religion, caste, race, physical disabilities, gender or language of anyone. Humor in these areas can start riots on the streets or even start a war. Don't use real names of people, friends, relatives, co-workers, etc. You will never know how they may get offended. But no one will be offended if you focus on yourself.

6. When writing humor surprise your readers. That is, don't tell or announce upfront about your funny intention. Don't tell the reader that they will experience something funny. Let the reader discover that for himself. Use concise, direct and uses simple words that everyone can understand.

7. It is not funny to be always funny. There is a time to be funny and there is a time NOT to be funny. And this is something you need to observe and learn. Something that is extremely funny in one place may not be understood at all in another. Something that is funny on a rowdy football stadium may sound offensive inside a religious place. And in some situations or circumstances you should not indulge in anything funny no matter how irresistible it is to write something hanky panky.

8. A piece of writing can never be final and fully funny in one go. Like a diamond it needs to trimmed, improved and polished as much as possible. You need to review it in terms of using a better sentence, a more mischievous word, rearranging the sentences, modifying to a completely different angle or deleting something that does not seem right, etc. After you think you have finished writing a humor piece revisit it after a few hours or a couple of days. Suddenly you can discover new and better ways of writing the same article that can seem vastly superior to your previous article.

9. Think wild, think crazy but at the same time be moderate so that it does not put anyone, including yourself, in trouble. Often in your enthusiasm words and sentences can flow like a mad river and you may write something horrible that you momentarily think is funny or harmless. But it could be laced with trouble when reviewed carefully. So take care to frequently pause your writing to view it from different angles and from the reader's perspective. Then you may need to give your writing a haircut and then continue.

10. The final piece of advice is writing humor takes time. To excel in humor is a lifetime job, and is not something that you can learn in a day or two. Don’t think you can read a joke book and start writing funny stuff an hour later. You will have to teach yourself how to be funny. The process is mostly by trial and error, observing other people's comical situations, mistakes, laughing and applying it on yourself, etc. No one can teach you exactly how to write something funny, but the possibilities of creating humor on anything and everything are limitless.

Anxiety And Humor: Laughter Can Help

Everyone has their own idea of what they consider funny. I believe that humor depends on the mood you are in. Sometimes what you think is funny today may cause you to be annoyed another day. Perhaps humour is a subjective thing that feeds off of people’s ability to relax and respond naturally.

I know that when you have a good belly laugh as it is called you forget everything temporarily. When you put your heart and sole into laughing at something it is good for anxiety, stress and depression. The endorphins released in the brain act on your mood. I personally have experienced this when watching a comedic movie. I really do not usually watch these types of movies but whenever I do I get the same reaction in my mood. I feel happier and cannot believe I am having such a good time.

How would a person who is suffering from anxiety and other traumatic issues even get to the point of watching a movie that was funny? Feeling anxious, panicky, depressed and stressed usually does not make you want to sit and watch something funny.

I would invite someone to join me for the movie at home on the television or I would offer to take him or her out to the theatre and pay his or her admission. Perhaps getting a group of friends together and going to a comedy club would be a suggestion. Just getting the person occupied and involved with something other than their problems would be a diversion and help give them some relief from their situation. Even if they did not laugh outwardly and you seemed to be dragging them along, I feel that getting up and moving and being distracted can and has worked for me when I felt depressed.

In other words I feel that humor is the best medicine and although it is not the total answer to all of lifes problems it does give us a safe way to escape temporarily the moments in life that we need help with.If you look around you there is something funny going on at least once a day. Add humor to your other techniques when working on anxiety and panic.

It takes repetition and a desire to change for something to become a habit. I have read that twenty-one days is the usual time for a change to occur when a person is motivated by emotion. Associate the behaviour you want to change with an emotion. This is a powerful tool to use in combination because these two things impress the change you want into your subconscious mind.

Put one funny joke, movie, story or recognize those situations that can come up unexpectedly in your daily routine.Maybe you will be the one who is providing the comic relief for someone else and helping him or her forget the anxiety they have for a moment. Doing something for someone else is also a way to feel good about you.

Laughing at and with yourself even when you are alone or in a crowd is a way of getting to know, care and value yourself.

Humor In Business Management

Emotional Intelligence plays an important role. The central place of humor in life makes it possible to use its precise emotional expression, as expressed in daily cartoons, for business training.

The progress in computers simulators enables the good businessman to simulate all his routines before he goes to the business work. He has the opportunity to concentrate on the non computerized human expressions in business. These are: customer service, work relationships, safety issues, self improvement and so on.

Any dealing with the human capital is an obligation to deal with emotions. Emotions volumes cannot be measured precisely, contrary to cognitive or physical volumes. The reason is that emotions expand all the time. It gives them their unique attribute: The human ability to be empathic.

We can measure exactly sales volume, I.Q. or weight lifting, but not the intensity of love and hate. For example: Questionnaires about satisfaction from a boss or a product give only limited answers. This leaves the business leader exposed to mistakes of emotional intelligence.

Large part of the business continuity, from the morning meetings through the motivation papers and finally with the private learning in the evening, is dedicated to practice on human resources. The amount of humor in it is small compared to ordinary life. While daily life is a continuous effort for laugher, business life is a cooperated effort for making life more serious.

There is nothing better then the sense of humor, the best known therapy for the soul, for the illumination of the human factor. Humor is derived directly from an overloaded mind which seeks to facilitate the feelings it faces with others.

The definition of humor is: Emotions made precise.

Every business negotiation is also a transaction of emotions. These are accurate emotions, purified through the long bargaining process. After a deal is closed, there is a mutual sense of emotional relief between the negotiating sides. When this sense of relief fades away, It create a by product in the form of a lightness of the spirit, a sense of humor.

The precision of humor makes it suitable for the businessmen training. There is a use for humor in all aspects of business communication. But Business fun is not as simple as it looks like. It demands professionalism both in humor and in business. It has to be precise. Otherwise there is a danger of getting out of focus. Laser precision is part of any humor. If the target is missed, the damage is big.

One medium of humor, the cartoon, is more suitable for the business office. The Visual aspect of the cartoon makes it easy to grasp the content. It affords a visual relaxation in the visually intensive business world.

There are few Daily Cartoon series that deals directly with the business work. One of them is The Daily Cartoon by Randy Glasbergen. It usually shows a sophisticated and delicate situation, which is the result of ordinary human behavior. The situation is mainly a very sharp event regarding money. The elusive world of money making motives finds here its accurate, funny representation.
The characters serve just as a mean for clarification. The subject is not a certain character with unique attributes, but a situation with a familiar background.

The reliance on practical situations makes the Daily Cartoon by Randy Glasbergen a favorable choice for the business world. Anybody can sympathize with a situation which was represented before him in a cartoon. If we shall apply it on a daily basis, we shall laugh all the way to the bank. To do so, we need a closer focus on business stories.

There is a huge need for sophisticated cartoons in all that is concerned with human resources. The greater part of Glasbergen's cartoons is about the modern business environment: Computers and Internet, management and workers, decision making and ethics, and so on. In addition, there are many cartoons which contain ideas and advice regarding other aspects of life: Health, family, self improvement and more. The cartoons cover with precision almost any field with a very positive affect.

Cartoons are the best way for introducing emotional intelligence for businessmen. It is a business training technique which should be implemented to the infrastructure of business processes.
